To launch Purlieu Photography as the latest centre for analogue and historical photography in the North West we are excited to announce a ‘Call for Entries’ for our first exhibition. Purlieu One will be an exhibition concentrating of alternative and historical photographic processes, with an emphasis on analogue techniques. Digital images are not excluded, but this must be limited to an element in the process, not prime method. So digital negatives, digital prints, etc would be acceptable, but photoshopped images are discouraged.
We would particularly encourage those working across media to submit, in addition to those keeping the craft of photography alive. The exhibition will run from Friday February 17th until Sunday March 18th 2018, with an opening night on February 17th.
Purlieu Photography is located on the fourth floor of Woodend Mill in Mossley, near Manchester. Woodend Mill encompasses two old cotton mills which now house a lively creative community covering most aspects of art and design, plus the performing arts.
Submissions should be made but 4th February to firstname.lastname@example.org and should include jpegs of a maximum of 3 images, max size 1mb, and a brief synopsis of the project or description of the work. You should also include the dimensions of the framed work. A submission fee of £10, for al three images, should be made by to
Successful candidates will be informed by 7th February when the shipping details will also be shared.
Good luck with your submissions and we look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully meeting you in person at the exhibition.
