I started off towards Faro on the N125, supposedly Portugal’s most dangerous road, but it feels much safer than most roads at home.

Foz do Guardiana

The Guardiana is the fourth longest river on the Ibrian Peninsula, running from the lagoons of Ruidera, in the Spanish province of Ciudad Real, and entering the Gulf of Cadiz after forming the border between Spain and Portugal for approximately 100 km.

This seemed to be the best place to start both of my projects from.  It is literally the end , or the start, of Po...

The main industries around Fuzeta, excluding tourism, are fishing and salt production.  The fishing is on a small scale and seems mainly to supply local markets.  However, salt production has shaped the landscape around this small coastal town.  Clean Atlantic water flows into the Ria Formosa Natural Park where it feeds the salt marshes and is channeled into salt pans.  Through a...

We left Chez Gendon under a cloudy sky, which soon turned to heavy rain. This lasted for most of the journey. Not the best way to leave France

Chez Gendron. The third day of travelling took us from Tours down to the Bordeaux region, to Chez Gendron. Camping Chez Gendron is an idyllic campsite

La Ville Aux Dames.

The second long days’ drive in a row, from Kent to Tours, via the Channel Tunnel.  It always surprises me how easy it is to use the tunnel, especially compared to flying.  The only draw back today was when we arrived early our friends where able to get on an earlier train, but the touch screen I used wouldn’t let me.  Just meant a thirty minute wait in the car...
